Moor Green Allotments
An Oasis in the Centre of Birmingham, England
NEWSLETTER JULY - AUGUST 2014
The site was opened by the then Princess Alice of Gloucester on 8 September 1976 and we plan to celebrate 40 years of Moor Green Allotments in as many ways as possible.
One idea is a small publication detailing the history of the site, another is a celebrity celebration at the time of the 2016 produce show.
If you have any ideas about this or know of anyone who may have historical knowledge of the site please do contact Rex Harris
We need to make a start now in getting the site and plots looking pukka and to help everyone with this we will be offering free bulbs at rent renewal time.
Ideally a flower bed at the front of each plot is the aim - something that historically was an expectation of all tenants - would be great to work towards achieving that aim.
All new tenants will be receiving a pack of bulbs to get them started as well.
Prospective new plot holders should visit the Allotment Tenancy section for information and an application form.
